After much costly dithering, Victoria Principal has finally settled on the design for the space suit she will don when she becomes one of the first celebrities to be launched into space.
The former Dallas actress is leaving nothing to chance for her journey into infinity.
She has decreed that not only must her astronaut's space suit complement her hazel eyes, it should also be cut to flatter her still enviable figure.
Meanwhile, to ensure she is in peak condition for the trip, the dedicated Miss Principal - who says she is 59, but whom some commentators believe to be 63 - is putting herself through a gruelling health and fitness regime.
After a minimum ten hours of beauty sleep, her day starts with a two-hour power walk on the beach in front of her Malibu home, followed by yoga and fat-burning resistance training.
But her public image faces serious damage from claims by family friends this week that the actress shunned her 85-year-old mother Ree Principal before she lost her seven-month battle with lung cancer four weeks ago.
Earlier this year, friends of widowed Mrs Principal are reported to have contacted her famous daughter to tell her how dire her mother's health had become.They were shocked to receive a curt email in reply: 'Sorry to hear about your troubles. God bless you.'
Sources in the U.S. stated this week that lawyers for the sacked maid - who alleges that during the row over the dog last Christmas, the actress told another employee to step aside so she could get a clear shot at Miss Banegas - are hoping to persuade Principal's 65-year-old former husband, plastic surgeon Dr Harry Glassman, to give evidence against her.
The couple divorced acrimoniously two years ago following a stormy 21-year marriage characterised by a series of violent rows.
